These are fattened chickens (head, feathers, and everything) wrapped to go with nice pink ribbons.

  2. Apparently, it's sort of like a chicken version of veil. The chicken is fattened in a dark cage and doesn't reach adulthood, which seems to make its meat really moist and fatty. Expensive too, more than ten bucks a pound.
