Sparkling Eiffel Tower

The tower lights up every hour on the hour. Here's what it looks like from my apartment.

Lunch on the Seine

We had our annual department on a boat on the river Seine. Nice idea, but eating was a bit hard since the waves were making me seasick.

Night shots

Went out riding my bike along the river at night when there's no traffic.

The tower is back to its normal color now. I think it looks better like this. When it was blue, it was hard to see it sometimes because it disappeared among the clouds.

It snowed again!

We had some unexpected snow this week.

It's a nice surprise, but you risk breaking your neck trying to avoid the black ice. And when it all melts, all the dog poo on the street goes with it. The sidewalks end up looking like Pollock paintings. Some days I miss LA so much...

Paris can be ugly too

I had to stay at a hotel before I found the apartment, and the only place relatively affordable was next to the city dump. Had to pass it everyday for more than a month. Evidently not all of Paris is that pretty.

Chinagora

It's a big Chinese temple just outside Paris. They expected it to become a giant mecca of the Chinese community but didn't work out. Still, the buildings look completely different from the rest of the city.

Shopping

I'm obsessed with this site these days.

FranceZone 벼룩시장

It's sort of like recycler.com, only that it's for the Korean community in France. Found some good deals too. I've already bought a ricemaker, an electric teapot, and train tickets to London.

Dogs

Here are some pictures of our dogs they sent me from home .

빤짝빤짝 (shiny shiny)

My friends made fun of me coz I liked looking at the lights so much. Can you blame me?

The view from inside the mall

We found out that you can walk up to the roof of the mall to see the whole city. The big building in the middle is the Paris Opera. It's a good thing since they charge 20 bucks a head to go up the Eiffel Tower.

The Tower

Taken from Champ de Mars on a rare sunny day this winter.

Liberty

Turns out that the statue isn't that far from my place. It's in a little island in the middle of the river Seine. Looks so tiny compared to the real thing.

More famous sites

Notre Dame Cathedral. Lines were horrendous because the city was overflowing with tourists.

The louvre. Looks just as nice from the outside.

View from inside the glass pyramid at the Louvre. Turns out Jacobs designed it. Who knew?

New Year's pictures

The city installed a ferris wheel for the New Year's celebrations at Place de la Concorde.
Trees lit up at night towards the end of the year.

It snowed in Paris!

Hello from Paris!
